Pocket parkrun #35: Run Report

🔀 from Pocket parkrun

This week, 180 parkrunners braved freezing temperatures at the 35th Pocket parkrun. The official advice from Run Director Antony Moore was to take it easy as the gound was very hard and slippy in places. Despite this, 34 people still managed to set new PBs and the only incident was when the Start/Finish pop up sign slightly exploded in Antony’s face during set up! We also had 33 people joining us for the first time and 10 running their inaugural parkrun. Thank you to everyone who used the school playground or the Conygear carpark  to park this morning, it worked really well and hopefully we’ll be able to do the same for the next few weeks. First finisher this week was 250_club_mini25_club_miniLloyd Cross in atime of 18:16 and female first finisher was Natalie Jane Morgan in a time of 22:13. The person with the highest age grade was 50_club_miniAnn Storey with 78.96% and a time of 29:09.

Pocket parkrun #33: Run Report

🔀 from Pocket parkrun

Pocket park saw 217 people run, walk and jog this week’s parkrun. As is the case at this time of year, the ground was a bit slippy under foot so the Core Team does recommend you get yourself some trail shoes to help you grip the mud. Also, as it’s “the end of the season” (even though it’s still January) there could be some great deals if you go looking.

269 people ran, walked and jogged in slightly miserable conditions on Saturday morning. That’s a new record of participants at a ‘normal’ parkrun (ie. on a Saturday) in Pocket park continuing our growth this year. We had 66 first timers and 26 people took part in parkrun for the first time ever! Of the 203 people who had run Pocket parkrun before, 90 ran a new PB.
